Mercury General to cede above $200mn wildfire loss to reinsurers

Mercury General said it would cede a loss of around $216mn to its reinsurers from this month’s Californian wildfires.

It expects to take pre-tax gross losses before reinsurance benefits of approximately $207mn from the Camp Fire, and $46mn from Woolsey.
